How to recover yahoo email account password?

This article will teach you how to restore your access to Yahoo account using your backup email or registered phone number. If you don't have a registered recovery email or a phone number on your Yahoo account, in that case you won't be able to recover your Yahoo account. Steps to recover your account

Step 1

Go to the website https://login.yahoo.com/forgot in a browser. It will help you recover your account by sending a confirmation code to your registered Yahoo account or phone number. It's mandatory to have your recovery email account or phone number to restore the Yahoo account. If there's no way left to restore your access to those accounts, you can seek the help from Yahoo customer service for a minimal fee. If you haven't signed into your account for a long period of 12 months, your account must have been deleted from Yahoo's server. 

Step 2

Enter your Yahoo account and click on continue option. If you are not able to remember your email address, enter Yahoo recovery email or phone number. 

Step 3

Analyse your recovery email address or phone number. It will be partially displayed. If you have the recovery mail and phone number click yes, send me a verification code but in case you don't have, click I don't have access to to display another option. In case of no backup email address or phone number, a message saying "Uh-oh… Looks like we can't recover your account online" will be displayed. If you wish to try again with a different email or phone number, you have to click Start over. During number verification, you will be asked to enter two missing digits to give the confirmation of your number. Enter the correct two digits and click Submit.

Step 4

You can find the verification code in the message sent by Yahoo. If you opted for recovery through email, you'll receive a message in inbox by Yahoo and if you opted recovery via phone number, you will receive a text message with the code. In case you don't see a message from Yahoo in your email inbox, check the spam or junk folder.

Step 5

Now you have to enter the verification code and click continue. Your account is recovered and since you forgot your old password, you will be given an opportunity to create a new one.

Now click Create a New password.

Step 7

The new password needs to be typed on both lines. You have to make sure that you type the correct and same password both times. 

 

Step 8

Click on continue. Now you are logged in to your account with the new password. When you sign in, you will be given an option to edit your recovery options. New additional recovery accounts can be added and the old ones can be removed by following the instructions.
